Description

As the follow up to Coffee & Beats Volume ONE BoBeats set out with an aim to create a pack where each sound can be tweaked to get the most out of the 64 patch slots.

Patches 1-32 are more unique in their macro layout and the sound types are varied whereas the patches 33-64 have more of a standard feel to them to give you a broad sound palette to work with.

Patches 33-64 can be shaped using macro knob 5 to switch between different oscillator settings which will give the patches different character. Macro knob 8 was used for distortion which in turn was tweaked to add character and variation to the sounds.

COFFEE & BEATS VOLUME TWO CONTENTS:

  • 64 Circuit patches + BONUS patches!
  • 64 carefully selected drum samples from the Sonic Treats series. All are sampled from the Elektron Analog Rytm drum machine and processed.

  4. Go to Components and click OPEN PACK and locate the FULL PACK file.
  5. If you just want the patches OR the samples OR the sessions look up the components file named sessions, samples or patches.

Great collection of patches. The beauty of the way this has been implemented is that there are example synth loops and drum loops which demonstrate what happens when you start messing with the macro knobs. It’s like getting a whole other bunch of sounds. I also like the variety of these sounds and it’s finally encouraged me to use the Circuit without a midi keyboard when I’m travelling. Fab.

A solid collection which saves a lot of leg work, especially on pads. The standardized macro knob layout is useful for those who just want to get on with the business of laying downs beats quickly, and the addition of Analog Rytm samples is very welcome.

On the down side, I found the drums can tend toward the esoteric and I had to load up some more standard sounding kits. The collection could also benefit from a few extra well-crafted mono bass patches.

Our Products are generally provided as Zip file downloads which in all cases will need to be extracted and saved to your hard drive prior to installation. Details on the different file type provided and what to do with them are below.

.alp Files – These are Ableton Live Packs and will install directly into the Packs Section of the browser of Ableton Live. When you double click on them you will see a pop up window asking you to confirm that installation is ok as the files are described as “Legacy”. This is fine and you are ok to proceed, the packs are created using the format for an earlier version of Live and so remain compatible with the current version.

.amxd files – These are individual MaxforLive Devices and can be stored anywhere on your hard drive. We’d advise creating a folder for them and then adding that folder as a location within the Places section of Lives Browser.

Control Surface Scripts – Please refer to the individual User Guides provided with your download

ClyphX Pro – Please refer directly to the manual and installation video for this specific product.

Novation Circuit Packs – These are provided as individual Sysex Files and as a complete bank file. All are to be installed using a version of the Circuit Editor and not via Novations Components back up utility.
