OktoPush ONE – Ableton Push Performance Template

Price £27.50

OktoPush ONE is a MaxforLive Performance Template for the Ableton Push ONE

The Ableton Push is possibly the most integrated Live controller out there, we wanted more though. The ability to create custom mapping whilst retaining Clip Launching ability whilst adding banks of control to the powerful encoders and display, OktoPush is what you’ve been searching for!

OktoPush Scene ONE

Our popular set of Isotonik Effects, each of the Encoders controls the rate of an effect with the Track Select Buttons acting as effect on and off controls…

The Track Select Buttons work on a momentary basis allowing you to punch in and out of effects, you can set a Toggle time however so that holding a button down for a certain time will change its behaviour to work on a Toggle basis…

We’ve used the display to show the effects that are assigned to each control so you can further move away from the laptop screen and concentrate on your performance!

We’ve included a Rewind effect, Turntable Brake, Low and High Pass Filter with Resonance and Overdrive control along with a Cutter effect and our Smart Effects are incorporated within the template.

The Button matrix has dual functionality dependent on whether the Shift Button is pressed, with it released the buttons control our Slicer effect allowing a quantised beat repeat type effect. You can re-trigger any 1/8th of the previous bars audio and control the rate it’ll repeat at down to 1/64ths and then combine this with other effects like the momentary control of the Low and High Pass filter assigned to the touch strip!

With Shift engaged the matrix will now work as a playable Buffer Shuffler effect with running light metronome and visual feedback of which order your slices are in and the direction in which each slice shall play…

OktoPush Button Matrix Editor

With these two scenes we’ve created an editor for the Button Matrix allowing you to map any of the buttons to parameters within Live, you can even choose to not map a button and leave it with it’s default Clip Launching Functionality…

Each Scene has Dynamic Mapping that follows the onscreen Red Box and options which allow the buttons to work on a Toggle or Momentary basis, with Glide & Velocity Control allowing you to play effects expressively…

OktoPush Encoder Editor

Pressing SHIFT and one of the six encoder function buttons (Volume, Pan & Send, Track etc.) will disable the standard functionality and switch into the chosen Isotonik Bank, these are configurable to be mapped to any parameter within Live.

The default template assigns these to DJ EQ and Lo and Hi Pass Filter control across the eight tracks of the Push’s Ring Focus Box. The mappings again can be set to be dynamic and follow as you navigate around your live set.

All in all it’s a pretty well featured template which is also compatible with the LaunchSync Series if you want to sync a Novation LaunchControl or other similar MIDI Controller to add knobs to your set up!

NOTE: This template is not compatible with the Ableton Push TWO

Q. What are the Minimum System Requirements?

A. Ableton Live 9.7 & MaxforLive 7

Q. What’s the Installation Process?

A. If the files provided end in .amxd then these should be downloaded and saved to a folder on your harddrive, the files can then either be dragged into your Live set with the mouse or you can add a file path to the folder they’re contained within in the Live Browser.

If the files provided end in .alp then these are Ableton Live Packs, double clicking them open will usually provide a warning regarding the files “Legacy” status, this is nothing to worry about, it’s just the only way we can make a pack that will install itself into your Live browser alongside the factory content.

Our Products are generally provided as Zip file downloads which in all cases will need to be extracted and saved to your hard drive prior to installation. Details on the different file type provided and what to do with them are below.

.alp Files – These are Ableton Live Packs and will install directly into the Packs Section of the browser of Ableton Live. When you double click on them you will see a pop up window asking you to confirm that installation is ok as the files are described as “Legacy”. This is fine and you are ok to proceed, the packs are created using the format for an earlier version of Live and so remain compatible with the current version.

.amxd files – These are individual MaxforLive Devices and can be stored anywhere on your hard drive. We’d advise creating a folder for them and then adding that folder as a location within the Places section of Lives Browser.

Control Surface Scripts – Please refer to the individual User Guides provided with your download

ClyphX Pro – Please refer directly to the manual and installation video for this specific product.

Novation Circuit Packs – These are provided as individual Sysex Files and as a complete bank file. All are to be installed using a version of the Circuit Editor and not via Novations Components back up utility.
