Steps is a Max for Live step sequencer modulator device. Inspired by Eurorack modules, Steps sequenced modulation signal can be mapped to any of Lives parameters. Dial in step count and sequencer rate, or randomize step values to add interesting rhythmic modulation.
The step sequencer page lays the parameters of the control signal. Rate sets the step sequencer speed, while Steps sets the step count. Direction sets the sequencer direction — forward, backward, or forward and backward. Increasing Smooth value adds a glide time between each step value, while Randomize sets random values for each step.
The mapping page allows you to map the control signal to any of Lives parameters. Click Map — and when the button starts flashing, the next parameter clicked will be mapped a control signal. Use the Min/Max values to scale or invert the control signal. www.
Double click on the .ALP file whilst you have Ableton Live open.
