Description

The Symbiotic pack for Novation Circuit features 64 patches, 64 samples, and 32 sessions for the wide spectrum of electronic music genres. These carefully-crafted Circuit elements have been designed with producers of Ambient, Techno, House, Psytrance, Breaks, Electro, Drum and Bass, Dubstep, and Downtempo in mind. From classic synthesizer sounds to the evolving esoteric, Symbiotic breathes new life and options for user creativity into Circuit.

FIT IN YOUR MIX

This new batch of 64 patches allows for improved mixing possibilities by providing multi-mode filter versions that can act as a form of quick equalization without as much need to return to editors while creating patterns and sessions. The upper patch section of 32 is mirrored by the lower section of 32, meaning that if a patch doesn’t quite fit in your mix at first, the matching patch in the opposite section offers a contrasting filter type. This means more precise isolation of frequencies, as well as variance of harmonic qualities and richness within your own patterns and session creations.

Consistent Macros

All patches contained in the pack adhere to consistency between their macro assignments.

Macro 1 – Filter Cutoff

Macro 2 – Filter Resonance

Macro 3 – Envelope 1 Attack

Macro 4 – Envelope 1 Decay

Macro 5 – Envelope 1 Sustain

Macro 6 – Envelope 1 Release

Macro 7 – Chorus, Phaser, or Random

Macro 8 – Filter Drive & Distortion

Creative Layering

Symbiotic also offers a multi-mode filter concept to sound design within Circuit. Along with panning and macro adjustments, it can provide a new technique for adding depth to your synths parts. Using corresponding patches from both the upper and lower synth sections on Circuit’s synth parts together allows for combined synth part layers consisting of four oscillators, four LFO’s, six envelopes, and so on.

Samples for All Bass Music Types

Also included in the Symbiotic pack is an assortment of 64 high-quality samples, taken from various analogue and digital drum machines and synthesizers. Each section is organized in batches of 16, for easy navigation.

Sample set includes:

16 Kick Drums

16 Snares & Hits

16 Hi Hats & Cymbals

16 Sound FX & Synth One Shots

PLEASE NOTE: OG Circuit pack sessions are not compatible with Circuit Tracks, this pack contains a specific Circuit Tracks Pack containing all of the patches.

This is a killer circuit pack with 64 sessions of electronic goodness. The sessions progress nicely and maintain a consistent transition. I am very impressed with this approach and how easy it was to put together a high quality performance right away. My 6 year old DJ (wannabe) boys immediately started throwing down some ambient beats and impressed their friends. This circuit pack really brings out some of the best features of the Circuit by keeping it simple, intuitive and most of all, FUN. Thanks Jim and Isotonik for crushing it.

Just bought this pack and really love it. Sessions are nicely organized and progressive from left to right. Great patches giving and immediate professional feel. This pack will inspire and allow you to quickly create your electro tracks.

Not feeling this unfortunately. I was attracted to this because of the fixed macro’s, but I am disappointed upon use.

The patches all seem very OTT and overly busy, and the macro’s don’t work as I would expect (4 and 5 are basically the same, and with some patches 6 has a filter on the release for an unknown reason). I was dissapointed that so few of the patches are paraphonic. Some of the samples are really nice but a lot are also too busy for my taste.

If you are after fixed macros I would recommend the Elements pack, the macro’s are not 100% consistent but they feel far more ‘usuable’ than this pack (for me anyway).

I guess if you want very maximum, busy and aggressive sounds this would probably be a good pack, but I guess I prefer things a little more subtle!

2 as opposed to the minimum 1 star because some of the samples were decent.

Jim Drones

Jim Drones (aka Robert Cecil) started trajectory into the world of sound design in the mid-to-late 90’s. Having performed live throughout the United States for years with an assortment of drum machines, synths, and stringed instruments, the eventual move towards studio recordings seemed a natural one to be made.Collaborative release projects with world-renowned electronic artists soon followed, leading to his own label-released productions on Bass Frequency Productions & Street Sounds UK having reached the top of electro charts for many consecutive weeks. This led to software instrument endorsements from numerous developers, which sparked the idea to enter the sound design industry professionally.Having worked on numerous award-winning instrument projects in various forms, such as Gladiator 2, Electra 2, Nemesis, Saurus, and more, his focus then became placed onto the hardware side of things. The intuitive nature of Novation Circuit, combined with the ingenious design of the Isotonik editor, was a perfect fit.Jim Drones not only aimed to cover all bases for Circuit users, but also to push sound design into uncharted territory. His packs often feature foward-thinking approaches to traditional instrument utilization, while always keeping musicality in mind. With packs exceeding nearly 3,000 downloads in only the past couple years, it can be said that the transition into the hardware realm of professional sound design has been a successful one.
