The Ableton Push ONE was Abletons’ first foray into the hardware market.
As a joint venture with AKAI the Ableton Push One took many of the paradigms of MIDI Controllers already on the market and blessed them with a deeper integration with Ableton Live that only Ableton could achieve.
We’d seen grid based controllers before from AKAI but this marked a new level of quality with its almost svelte like casing and large LCD screen it felt more like an instrument than any before it.
Designed to be played with velocity sensitive buttons and the context led screen the Ableton Push presents the musician with a grid that can play notes, trigger drums or control the Session view depending on the chosen mode.
Whilst the Ableton Push ONE has now been superseded by the Push TWO, Ableton have continued to improve their original hardware with updates in Live 9.5 and above.
