Andrew Norris

Andrew Norris is a Sheffield, UK based DJ, developer and hobbyist musician / producer. He makes Max for Live devices, usually with the DJ or VJ in mind, and creates controller mappings for Native Instruments’ Traktor DJ software and touchscreen devices.

He’s from the old school of DJing and the ’90s free party scene where the only hardware options available at the time were trusty 1210s and a scratch mixer! However, he has always kept up with and embraced the many technological advances in DJ controllers over the years and uses hardware / software from both the old school and the new school in his DJing.

Andrew’s work in Max for Live has ranged from an all-purpose controller for the Korg Minilogue to more niche devices such as a video scratcher tool and a device for mapping note ranges to parameter values. His work has always stemmed from his own need for a particular tool or device that doesn’t appear to exist yet, and will only make a device if he has a genuine need for it himself first.
