Each of our Instrument Racks contain tips and insights. Open the info tab at the bottom left of the clip viewer and highlight the rack.
There are colour coded tutorials on what each of the macros will achieve when changed. By flicking through the presets you’ll find a host of new sounds and effects textures that instantly change the instrument or effect. You can also try using the randomize button at the top right of the rack. You’ll get some impressive results, or a cool new starting point to dial in and make your own preset snapshot. This will be saved with the rack within your Environment, or within the Rack preset when you save it to your browser.

Terence Pender –
This is a wonderful package of instruments and effects. I’ve never bought a package like this before and have been very happy with it – but there is a lot to learn. In particular I wish there were some youtube videos explaining how to install the package in more detail, how to use the individual elements – racks, effects, etc in other projects of my own making – to use them modularly.
This probably seems obvious to a lot of your customers and users, but I also imagine a lot of people (like me) are buying them because they are somewhat new to Ableton and they hope these environments will expand their knowledge and understanding of how to create some of the great instruments and boost our creativity.
So in closing – I love it. I’m happy with everything the environment can do – I would say perfect if there was a little more info out there on interesting ways to use it. I don’t want to use the entire environment and end up making music that imitates the demo project – It’s great but I want to make my own music using some of these elements. These are good packages – I went on to buy more 36db products – they sound great.
