Description

Trisektor is a MaxforLive 3-band delay unit for Ableton Live featuring dub style flutter effects, distortion, bitcrush, and a modulated comb filter. Create everything from subtle spatial dynamics to full on psychedelic freak out!

With the left hand side of the device you can set the high and low crossover frequencies to split the audio into 3 frequency bands.

Then you can finish off at the right hand side by setting a final frequency range at the end of the signal chain and the dry/wet balance for the audio output.

CONTROLS

  1. Band Output – Each band can be muted by turning this off.
  2. Solo – Set a band to solo to focus in on that frequency band.
  3. Delay Time – Set the delay time in ms or sync intervals. In linked channel mode the left delay time will set for both stereo channels.
  4. Offset – Create width in the output by offsetting one channel. These controls work even when the left and right channel are linked.
  5. Feedback – Set the level of delay feedback. In linked mode the left control will set the output for both channels.
  6. Link Channels – Link the channels to give the left and right channel the same feedback amount and delay time. The offset dial will still work to allow for creating width.
  7. Panel Select – Switch between the front panel shown above and the effects panel
  8. Comb Filter – This dial acts as a dry/wet knob for a modulated comb filter on the delay output
  9. Crush – Reduce the bit depth and sampling rate of the signal
  10. Overdrive – Distort the signal
  11. Volume – Attenuate the signal if the effects add too much power
  12. Flutter – Create a classic dub delay wobble. The flutter time can also be set in sync times for some more rhythmic modulation

INSTALLATION

Our Products are generally provided as Zip file downloads which in all cases will need to be extracted and saved to your hard drive prior to installation. Details on the different file type provided and what to do with them are below.

.alp Files – These are Ableton Live Packs and will install directly into the Packs Section of the browser of Ableton Live. When you double click on them you will see a pop up window asking you to confirm that installation is ok as the files are described as “Legacy”. This is fine and you are ok to proceed, the packs are created using the format for an earlier version of Live and so remain compatible with the current version.

.amxd files – These are individual MaxforLive Devices and can be stored anywhere on your hard drive. We’d advise creating a folder for them and then adding that folder as a location within the Places section of Lives Browser.

Control Surface Scripts – Please refer to the individual User Guides provided with your download, an abridged version of the installation will be shown further down this page.

ClyphX Pro – Please refer directly to the manual and installation video for this specific product.

Novation Circuit Packs – These are provided as individual Sysex Files and as a complete bank file. All are to be installed using a version of the Circuit Editor and not via Novations Components back up utility.

DEVELOPER

LDM Devices

LDM Design is a project which started life in 2016, recreating Monome apps in Max For Live to use natively on the Launchpad Mini, which are still freely available on his website. He also created the popular glitchy multi-FX sequencer devices Manglerack and MangleFX, influenced by the legendary Illformed Glitch VST. Since then the project has expanded into making all kinds of M4L devices, always taking care in designing a clean, unique GUI.Many of his devices also show a love for introducing various degrees of chaos and probability into music production. His first release for Isotonik, the LP Pack, continued recreating and improving upon classic Monome apps and original ideas to expand the creative potential of the Novation Launchpad Mk1 and Mk2. Next, as a homage to the great Brian Eno and his creative processes, LDM then released the best-selling Chance 10 Pack, which is a selection of modules utilizing chaos and probability to affect various elements of production. There are a number of great free devices available on his website – ldmdesign.org. Chords in Key converts single MIDI notes into chords based on a set key, Gravity Delay is a fun ‘bouncing ball’ MIDI delay, and Autosputter is for live glitchy audio slicing, based on the old Instajungle VST.LDM Design continues to work on projects for Isotonik and his own website which will be available soon.
