LDM Design is the brainchild of Daniel Malcolm, who started creating Max For Live devices in 2016.

The project has since expanded into developing apps for the Roli Lightpad Block, creating packs for Novation Circuit and further sound design with synth presets and sample packs. He has created the best-selling Chance packs, Gravity pack and the Midi Filter pack, as well as the popular Organizm Circuit pack.

His Max For Live devices are distinguished by a clear unique GUI and minimalist design.

Velocity Sequencer

reVel is a velocity sequencer which will replace the velocity level of incoming notes according to the sequence you create. Values can be set per step or using a time duration function. The device includes the following functionality:

Gator by LDM Design

Rhythmic gate sequencer

Gator is a rhythmical gate sequencer effect for Max For Live. You can sequence 3 parameters, designed to be mapped to the gain of 3 individual FX chains in an Audio Effect Rack. You can load each chain with whatever effects you like and use Gator to open and close the gate for each channel. Mapping includes min/max parameter value, invert, probability per step, 2 separate parameters to map for each sequencer with individual ADR envelope.

GDelay by LDM Design

Multi-tap Spatial Delay

G-Delay is a multi-tap delay that can generate up to 24 taps. Not only can we use it as a normal delay with a fixed repeat duration, we can also create the bouncing ball effect and similar shifting duration modes. Using the stereo functions we can carve out a path with the array of taps through the stereo field to create a flow of movement through the sound. Great for sculpting dynamic undulating sounds which flow across the soundspace.

Strum Roll by LDM Design

The Strum Roll device is designed to quickly and easily get guitar chords into Ableton. Transfer easily found guitar chords from the web onto the fretboard GUI without needing to transpose note for note into the piano roll. You can then use the strum settings to create articulated chord strumming patterns that sounds like a real guitarist. The set of 64 patches includes crackles, hums, beeps, electrical tones, pads and atmospheric FX. The samples were created using synthesis, databending, manual wave editing and recorded foley sounds, including concrete kicks, clicks, pops, glitches and beeps.
