Jade uses Interference Patterns (combinations of 2 or 3 regular triggers) to conjure up 128 rhythm patterns.
You (yes, you) select sections of these patterns so that Jade can use K-Teck’s unique note generation engine to create stunning melodies, bass parts, repeated riffs… whatever you like.
And then… if you feel so inclined, you can activate Jade’s polyphonic shift registry for chords, arpeggios and stuff…
Jade is simple to use but very powerful. Whether you love to use step sequencers or just turn to them for occasional inspiration, Jade can do it all…
JADE CONTROLS
- Clock Rate: Sets clock pulse rate as a division of Live’s tempo
- Clock_Divide: Divides the master clock for slower clock pulses
- Swing: Swing -Old school 50-75% swing, Delays every second clock pulse
- Steps: The number of clock pulses before the sequence resets
- The full pattern is 128 clock pulses
- This is displayed at the bottom of the UI
- Pattern: Selects from a number of available rhythmic Interference Patterns
- The full pattern is 128 clock pulses
- This is displayed at the bottom of the UI
- Offset: Sets the start position (zero) for the sequence
- The full pattern is 128 clock pulses
- This is displayed at the bottom of the UI
- Read_Direction: Sets the direction in which the scale is addressed by the sequence trigger count
- Count_By: Count_By modifies the Clock Count
- Count_By 1 = 0,1,2,3,4,5….
- Count_By 2 = 0,2,4,6,8….
- This modified count is then used to read off the list of MIDI Notes available – selected by Scale, Root and Min&Max Range controls
- Scale: Selects one of 127 musical scales
- Root: Sets the root note of the chosen scale
- Pitch_Range_Min: Selects the Lowest Note played
- Pitch_Range_Max: Sets the highest note played
- Is an interval above Range_Min
- When Range_Min is changed Range_Max will follow – keeping the interval constant
- Velocity_Min: Sets the minimum possible Velocity
- Velocity is magically calculated from the Interference Pattern and note durations
- Maximum Velocity is always 127
- Duration: 1 – 200%
- Sets the note duration as a percentage of the time until the following note is triggered
- Probability: Percentage chance of any note being triggered
- Probability is polyphonic and affects Shift Registers independently
- Reset_Link: Selects the count by which the Scale List is read by
- Steps = count resets when Step count resets
- Range = count resets when Scale Range Max is reached
- Mode: Switches between Monophonic and Polyphonic modes
- In Polyphonic mode the UI is extended to reveal 3 Shift Registers and their controls
- nb: at least one shift register needs to be active for polyphony to occur
- Shift_Register_1/2/3: Works like an Analogue Shift Register (ASR)
- 0 = Inactive
- 1-8 delays the note sequence by 1-8 steps for up to 4 note polyphony
- Octave_1/2/3: +/- 3 octave transposition for the Shift Register
- Delay_1/2/3: Offsets/delays the output of the shift register by a division of Live’s clock
