Woah!!! This Environment is a mega inspiration & sonic powerhouse. There really is so much going on in this project & there is so much more that I will likely discover due to the sheer quantity contained within this epic 36db product. Sound quality is insanely high but the variation in processes used within the different parts throughout the project files is what really makes this shine! So many possibilities to manipulate the sound to create something truely unique is on offer for beginners & professionals alike. Reverse engineering this environment has definitely taught me ALOT and helped fine tune my existing workflow techniques. Huge amount of gems to uncover in this one! Definitely worth it!!

Instruments & Effects
36db and Hernan Cattaneo have curated an exceptional collection of synths, instruments, and effect racks for you to explore. Among these are uniquely sampled instruments from Hernan’s favourite hardware synths, frequently used in his productions. A standout feature is the Hernan Cattaneo MS20 LFO Effects Rack, a re-creation of the legendary Korg MS20, renowned for its ability to produce wild LFO effects that can infuse any track with sci-fi soundscapes. Additionally, you’ll find authentic MS20 LFO EFX samples, reimagined as an instrument using Ableton’s Wavetable Synth.
Hernan Cattaneo Instrument Racks
This selection of instruments in the Hernan Cattaneo Environments is a beautiful collection of sounds. Each of the Sampler Instruments were sampled over 5 octaves. The behavior and performance response of these sounds were recreated in Ableton Live to give you the best playability.
Each Instrument Rack comes with 16 macros of control. This allows you to dial in the sounds you want and gives you 10 presets for each Instrument rack to get you started.
Hernan Cattaneo Effects Racks
We’ve meticulously recreated a selection of Hernan’s favourite effects, the ones he relies on in his own productions. This collection features a wide variety of Effects Racks, each offering extensive controls to help you craft the exact sound you’re after. From reverbs and delays to modulation effects and more, these tools are designed to elevate your productions.
Additionally, each Effects Rack comes with 10 presets to jumpstart your creative process.
Hernan and 36db have also crafted 6 return channel Effects Racks, offering a diverse range of effects, including some wild glitchy textures to add depth and dimension to your sounds.
As with all our 36db Instruments and Effects Racks, these are provided as individual racks, allowing you to mix and match them to suit your own productions. By combining these devices, you can achieve limitless results, showcasing the true modular power of Ableton Live
Push 3 Total Control
All of Hernan Cattaneo’s Environments, along with every Instrument and Effects Rack, are now fully compatible with Push 3. You can effortlessly drag any of these 36db Hernan Cattaneo devices to your Push 3, and all macros and performance controls will integrate seamlessly, including those for any Max for Live devices.
Our primary goal in designing these Environments was to elevate the hands on experience. We’ve meticulously mapped and programmed each instrument and effects rack to ensure the ultimate user experience, prioritising functionality and control to help you achieve efficient and creative results.
Tips and Tricks
As you browse through the presets, you’ll discover a wide range of new sounds and effects that can instantly transform the instrument or effect. You can also experiment with the randomize button at the top right of the rack, which can yield impressive results or provide a fresh starting point for creating your own custom preset. This snapshot will be saved with the rack in your Environment or within the Rack preset when you save it to your browser.

Yes, the drum racks feature samples drawn directly from Hernan’s personal collection, blending exotic Latin American percussion with electronic drums and sound design elements he actually uses in his own productions.
No additional hardware is required. The MS20 LFO Effects Rack is a software recreation of the Korg MS20 built within Ableton’s environment, so everything runs natively without needing the physical synth or any external plugins.
While it’s designed with Hernan Cattaneo’s progressive and hypnotic sound in mind, the modular nature of the racks means producers working in techno, ambient, or other electronic genres will find plenty of usable tools and textures here.
After downloading, simply follow the included installation instructions to place the template files in your Ableton User Library. Once installed, the template will appear in your Live browser and you can open it like any standard Ableton project.
Absolutely. The entire template is designed to be a creative starting point, and every rack can be tweaked, resampled, and rebuilt to suit your own sound. Think of it as having Hernan’s workflow as your foundation rather than a fixed preset.

Our Products are generally provided as Zip file downloads which in all cases will need to be extracted and saved to your hard drive prior to installation. Details on the different file type provided and what to do with them are below.
.alp Files – These are Ableton Live Packs and will either install directly into the Packs Section of the browser of Ableton Live or ask you to save them to your hard drive. For packs that install to the library, when you double click on them you will see a pop up window asking you to confirm that installation is ok as the files are described as “Legacy”. This is fine and you are ok to proceed, the packs are created using the format for an earlier version of Live and so remain compatible with the current version.

The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is licensed, not sold.
- GRANT OF LICENSE.
The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is licensed as follows:
(a) Installation and Use. Providing that the LICENSEE has paid any applicable license fees, Isotonik Studios grants the LICENSEE the right to install and use copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on up to two computers in the LICENSEE’s possession that are running a validly licensed copy of the operating system for which the SOFTWARE PRODUCT was designed [e.g., Windows 10, macOS]. The computer(s) must be owned by the LICENSEE.
(b) Backup Copies. The LICENSEE may also make copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT as may be necessary for backup and archival purposes.
- DESCRIPTION OF OTHER RIGHTS AND LIMITATIONS.
(a) Maintenance of Copyright Notices. The LICENSEE must not remove or alter any copyright notices on any and all copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
(b) Distribution. The LICENSEE may not distribute registered copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT to third parties.
(c) Prohibition on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly. The LICENSEE may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.
(d) Rental. The LICENSEE may not rent, lease, or lend the SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
(e) License transfer The LICENSEE may not transfer their license to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT to any third party. Any attempt to do so will be considered a violation of this EULA.
(f) Support Services. Isotonik Studios may provide the LICENSEE with support services related to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT for a period of 12 months following the date of purchase. Any supplemental software code provided to the LICENSEE as part of the Support Services shall be considered part of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA.
(g) Compliance with Applicable Laws. The LICENSEE must comply with all applicable laws regarding use of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT.
- TERMINATION Without prejudice to any other rights, Isotonik Studios may terminate this EULA if the LICENSEE fails to comply with the terms and conditions of this EULA. In such event, the LICENSEE must destroy all copies of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT in the LICENSEE’s possession.
- COPYRIGHT All title, including but not limited to copyrights, in and to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and any copies thereof are owned by Isotonik Studios or its suppliers. All title and intellectual property rights in and to the content which may be accessed through use of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is the property of the respective content owner and may be protected by applicable copyright or other intellectual property laws and treaties. This EULA grants the LICENSEE no rights to use such content. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Isotonik Studios.
- NO WARRANTIES Isotonik Studios expressly disclaims any warranty for the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is provided ‘As Is’ without any express or implied warranty of any kind, including but not limited to any warranties of merchantability, noninfringement, or fitness of a particular purpose. Isotonik Studios does not warrant or assume responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of any information, text, graphics, links or other items contained within the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. Isotonik Studios makes no warranties respecting any harm that may be caused by the transmission of a computer virus, worm, time bomb, logic bomb, or other such computer program. Isotonik Studios further expressly disclaims any warranty or representation to the LICENSEE or to any third party.
- LIMITATION OF LIABILITY In no event shall Isotonik Studios be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, lost profits, business interruption, or lost information) arising out of the LICENSEE’s use of or inability to use the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, even if Isotonik Studios has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event will Isotonik Studios be liable for loss of data or for indirect, special, incidental, consequential (including lost profit), or other damages based in contract, tort or otherwise.
