French Touch by Jessica Saves

French Touch goes right to the source. Each of the eight construction kits is built around a specific seminal track from the mid 90s French house movement. Rather than simply recreating the vibe, Jessica has gone back to the original source recordings those tracks sampled, then chopped, pitched and edited them to match the way the artists used them. The result is a pack that doesn’t approximate the sound — it is the sound.

The Construction Kits

Eight tracks. Eight kits. Each one a calssic of the French Touch  aesthetic that put Paris on the map:

  • I:Cube – Disco Cubizm (Daft Punk Remix)
  • Fantom – Faithfull
  • Daft Punk – Fresh
  • DJ Falcon – Honeymoon
  • Alan Braxe & Fred Falke – Intro
  • Cheek – Venus (Sunshine People)
  • DJ Falcon & Thomas Bangalter – Together
  • DJ Falcon – Unplugged

Every kit gives you the core elements to understand how the track was built and to use those pieces as jumping-off points for something entirely your own.

Bits & Pieces + Drum One Shots

Beyond the construction kits, the pack expands into a broader palette of raw material. The Bits & Pieces folder contains 60 curated breaks, grooves and vocal fragments — loops and hits that sit alongside the kits but open up entirely new creative directions. Need a rolling break that sits under a filter sweep? A vocal chop that floats over a four-on-the-floor kick? It’s all here. Complementing these are 100 drum one shots covering the full disco house toolkit: kicks with that low-mid thump, claps with crack and presence, hi-hats both open and closed, snares with snap, and percussion that adds movement without clutter.

Built for the Digitakt MKII — Compatible with Everything

French Touch was designed with the Elektron Digitakt MKII at its centre. Included is a full Digitakt MKII project file featuring 8 demo patterns and 8 kits — load it, press play, and you’re immediately in the world of the pack. The project is built to help you understand how the sounds work together on the machine, and to give you a ready-made starting point for live performance or further production work.

That said, the pack is entirely hardware-agnostic. All 246 samples are delivered as mono and stereo WAV files at 48kHz / 16-bit, making them a perfect fit for any sampler or DAW in your workflow — Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Native Instruments Maschine, and beyond. If you work with an MPC, an SP-404, a Roland sampler, or any software instrument that accepts WAV imports, French Touch drops straight in.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: No — the Digitakt MKII project file is included as a bonus for DT2 owners, but all 246 samples are delivered as standard WAV files at 48kHz / 16-bit. They’re fully compatible with any DAW (Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, etc.) or hardware sampler (MPC, SP-404, Maschine, and more).

A: Each of the 8 construction kits is built around a specific classic French Touch track. The samples within each kit are taken from the original source recordings those artists used — then chopped and edited to match the way they were used in the original productions. Each kit gives you the core building blocks of that track to study, perform, or rework.

A: The samples are provided for personal, educational, and creative use. Because the construction kits are derived from original recorded source material, if you intend to use them in a commercial release you are solely responsible for clearing the original recordings with the appropriate rights holders. The PDF reference sheet included in the pack identifies every source, making that process easier.

A: Bits & Pieces is a curated collection of 60 additional samples — drum breaks, melodic grooves, and vocal fragments — that sit outside the construction kits. They’re designed to give you extra raw material that fits the French Touch aesthetic, whether you want something to loop directly or additional elements to chop and rearrange.

A: The included project file loads directly into your Digitakt MKII and contains 8 demo patterns with 8 corresponding kits — one per construction kit track. It’s designed to let you hear how the samples work together on the machine straight away, and to serve as a starting point for your own patterns and performances.

A: All 246 samples are delivered as mono and stereo WAV files at 48kHz / 16-bit — a professional standard format compatible with virtually every DAW and sampler on the market.

A: The PDF lists the original source material behind every sample in the pack. It helps you stay organised as you work, gives you deeper context for the music you’re working with, and serves as a reference point for exploring the genre further — whether you want to dig into the original records or understand the creative decisions behind each kit.

A: Absolutely. The construction kits, reference sheet, and Digitakt project file together make this an ideal educational resource for producers discovering French Touch for the first time, as well as a powerful toolkit for experienced producers looking to add authentic filtered disco energy to their work.
