Kinkon 2.0.3 is an MIDI sequencer designed specifically for Ableton Live users, offering a unique approach to rhythm and melody generation through its pendulum-based sequencing system. Unlike traditional piano roll or step-type sequencers, Kinkon’s pendulum creates evolving, dynamic loops perfect for ambient, drone, and experimental music.
Pendulum-Based Sequencing: Move beyond conventional sequencing methods with Kinkon’s pendulum system, generating fluid, organic rhythms. The pendulum motion produces non-repetitive loops, ideal for crafting intricate soundscapes.
Visual Control with Parameter Tab(Select): Each of the four pendulums in Kinkon controls the timing of the sounds, each pendulum has its own parameters for speed, phase, duration, velocity, and more. you can manage and adjust these parameters intuitively, giving you precise control over the evolving sequences.
Speed Control (Hz or Sync Mode): Adjust the speed of your sequences in Hz mode or sync it directly with Ableton Live’s BPM. each pendulum can change speed, each can select Hz mode or Sync mode. in Hz mode, all speed can also change by global speed.
Probability and Dice Function: The Dice feature introduces a layer of controlled randomness by randomizing pitch based on your chosen key and scale, maintaining harmony and avoiding dissonance. The probability feature determines whether a pitch or bend note will trigger, allowing you to customize the musical surprise while retaining control over your composition.
Parameter Tab(Select): Parameter Tab(Select) provides a clear overview of the parameters related to each pendulum, making it easier to adjust speed, phase, duration, velocity, and more. It offers a straightforward way to control complex arrangements, ensuring you maintain creative freedom.
Evolving Rhythms: Create fluid, evolving sequences allowing for more expressive musical ideas.
Encourages Experimentation: Kinkon’s real-time manipulation make inspiring creativity. Ideal for Ambient & Experimental Music: Its emphasis on randomness and evolving soundscapes makes Kinkon good for genres like ambient, drone, and avant-garde.
Inspire Creativity: The pendulum system offers a fresh perspective on rhythm creation, helping users break away from traditional patterns.
Unexpected Musical Surprises: The Dice function allows for controlled randomness, giving your listeners—and yourself—unexpected musical surprises while maintaining harmony.
Versatility: Suitable for crafting anything from delicate ambient textures to Polyrhythm, Kinkon 2.0.3 offers creative possibilities.
User-Friendly Interface: Parameter Tab(select) layout makes Kinkon accessible for producers at all levels. Transform your sequencing experience with Kinkon 2.0.3. This pendulum-driven sequencer, with its real-time parameter control and flexible options, offers an unparalleled approach to rhythm and melody creation, ideal for ambient, drone, and experimental music enthusiasts. Our Products are generally provided as Zip file downloads which in all cases will need to be extracted and saved to your hard drive prior to installation. Details on the different file type provided and what to do with them are below.
.alp Files – These are Ableton Live Packs and will install directly into the Packs Section of the browser of Ableton Live. When you double click on them you will see a pop up window asking you to confirm that installation is ok as the files are described as “Legacy”. This is fine and you are ok to proceed, the packs are created using the format for an earlier version of Live and so remain compatible with the current version.
.amxd files – These are individual MaxforLive Devices and can be stored anywhere on your hard drive. We’d advise creating a folder for them and then adding that folder as a location within the Places section of Lives Browser.
