POLYLLOP is a polyphonic and polymeter sequencer capable of playing up to four notes simultaneously—each with its own dedicated lane for rhythm, melody, duration, and velocity.
By assigning different lengths and behaviors to each lane, you can craft intricate patterns that go beyond typical DAW sequencing or arpeggiating. Even small changes—such as adjusting a single parameter—can lead to unexpectedly musical and expressive results.
Thanks to its MIDI transpose features, POLYLLOP can also function as a sophisticated arpeggiator and chord maker, constantly evolving within the selected scale of your song. Building on the framework of SEQUND, Alexkid’s flagship sequencer, POLYLLOP keeps the same simple logic, allowing you to deliver complex and musically creative outcomes with ease.
Inside you’ll find:
- Four independent polyphonic lanes capable of simultaneous playback
- Five dedicated blocks: Gate, Pitch, Length, Hold, and Velocity—each with individual controls
- Polymeter sequencing with lane lengths up to 16 steps for evolving patterns
- Six play modes per lane: Forward, Backward, Pendulum, Bi-Directional, and two Random modes
- Three advance modes: Clock, Gate, and MIDI for different sequencing behaviors
- Scale-based composition with factory scales and custom scale creation
- Intelligent transposition via octaves, scale degrees, or semitones—plus MIDI transpose control
- Step lock and per-lane/per-block randomization with adjustable density
- 12 patterns per preset with seamless MIDI switching (C0-B0)
- Swing control and clock division settings
- MIDI export via drag-and-drop to your DAW
- Factory and artist presets showcasing creative techniques
Create evolving polyrhythms, intricate arpeggios, multi-voice harmonies, and generative sequences that never repeat the same way twice. POLYLLOP transforms how you think about MIDI sequencing.

Overview & Inspiration
What if rhythm, melody, duration, and velocity could each follow their own timeline? POLYLLOP is a polyphonic and polymeter sequencer capable of playing up to four notes simultaneously—each with its own dedicated lane for independent control.
By assigning different lengths and behaviors to each lane, you craft intricate patterns that go beyond typical DAW sequencing or arpeggiating. Even small changes—such as adjusting a single parameter—can lead to unexpectedly musical and expressive results. Thanks to its MIDI transpose features and scale-based composition, POLYLLOP functions as both a sophisticated arpeggiator and chord maker, constantly evolving within your selected scale.
Building on the framework of SEQUND (Alexkid’s flagship sequencer), POLYLLOP keeps the same simple logic while delivering complex and musically creative outcomes with ease.
Features & Highlights
Four Independent Polyphonic Lanes – Each of the four lanes (A, B, C, D) can play simultaneously, creating chords, counterpoint, or multi-layered melodies. All lanes feed a single MIDI output with complete individual control.
Five Dedicated Blocks – Gate Block sets rhythm patterns. Pitch Block defines melodic content. Length Block controls note duration. Hold Block extends sustain until the next gate. Velocity Block adjusts dynamics per step. Each block operates independently across all four lanes.
Polymeter Sequencing – Set different lengths for each lane (up to 16 steps) to generate evolving polyrhythms. As melodies shift and realign, unexpected patterns emerge naturally from the mathematical relationships between lane lengths.
Six Play Modes Per Lane – Choose Forward, Backward, Pendulum, Bi-Directional, or two Random modes for each lane independently. Create complex, evolving sequences that never repeat the same way twice.
Three Advance Modes – Clock mode advances by time division. Gate mode steps only when gates trigger. MIDI mode lets you control step advancement from your keyboard—opening radical new rhythmic possibilities beyond grid-based sequencing.
Scale-Based Composition – Notes automatically quantize to your selected key and scale (or chromatic if preferred). Includes factory scales mirroring Ableton Live and Push, plus the ability to create and save custom scales.
Intelligent Transposition – Transpose by octaves, scale degrees, or semitones. Enable MIDI transpose to control transposition from your keyboard—with Classic, Scale Dependent, and Chromatic modes for different musical approaches.
Step Lock & Randomization – Lock individual cells to protect them from randomization. Use per-lane or per-block randomization with adjustable density to explore variations while preserving your intentional choices.
12 Patterns Per Preset – Store up to 12 variations within each preset. Switch patterns instantly via MIDI (C0-B0) with seamless transitions that maintain sequence position—even with complex polyrhythms.
Swing & Clock Division Control – Add swing (including negative values for uncommon grooves) and set clock divisions from whole notes to 32nd notes for precise rhythmic control.
MIDI Export – Drag and drop generated sequences directly into your DAW as MIDI clips. Set export length in bars and capture your evolving patterns for further editing.
How to Use
Load POLYLLOP as a MIDI plugin before your instrument in your DAW. Set gates in the Gate Block to establish rhythm, then add pitch values in the Pitch lanes to create melodies. Each lane can have different lengths—try setting Lane A to 16 steps, Lane B to 13, Lane C to 9, and Lane D to 7 to hear evolving polymeter patterns.
Adjust the Length Block to control note duration, enable Hold for sustained notes, and shape dynamics with the Velocity Block. Change Play Modes for individual lanes to create forward-moving basslines, backward-running countermelodies, or randomly evolving textures simultaneously.
Select a key and scale in the Scale Panel—all pitch values automatically conform to your harmonic choices. Use the Transpose controls or enable MIDI transpose to shift patterns on the fly from your keyboard. Switch between Clock, Gate, or MIDI advance modes to fundamentally change how the sequence progresses.
Store up to 12 pattern variations per preset and switch between them seamlessly during performance via MIDI notes C0 through B0. Use randomization with adjustable density to explore variations, lock cells you want to preserve, and export sequences as MIDI clips when you find patterns worth developing further.
