X-Clips are just one of the ways of triggeringactions via ClyphX Pro. You simply name a clip and launch it to trigger its actions. They're simple to create and follow a robust& simple to understand pattern
Here we see examples of controlling parameters via specific values or releative adjustments, when ramping between values you can choose between beats of Milliseconds
In addition to X-Clips we have X-Locators which will trigger actions when the playhead passes them in Arrangement View
The two listed above are snap actions so will recall states of parameters when the playhead passes them
Snap Actions are one of the most powerful features of ClyphX Pro, it isn't just the storing and recall of parameters, you can morph between them as well
You can store snapshots within your set & recall them on the fly, with the ramping option you can morph between snaps in beats or MS
Part of Clyph Pro is Macrobat (Macro + Acrobat = Acrobat) you can then use these to map to any parameter. The difference to standard macros is what you can control by MAcrobat Macros doesn't have to be contained within the rack
The above rack is focused on a Drum Rack & looks after the Pan, Volume and Send of the Chains within the rack. Imagien controlling this set of three rack with the Ableton Push, they take seconds to set up and will save you hours in workflow!
Combine Snap Actions with Macrobat & you can dial in the morph between snaps by hand!
Which as this is done by Macro's can be saved as automation within your track
With MaxforLive we've extended the available trigger options to be able to trigger by MIDI notes
The drum rack shown here simply has its actions listed as the names of each Drum cell, these can be ClyphX Pro Macros as well...
You can target Track Actions by name, number, letter for return tracks or MST for the Main track
& you can apply actions to the selected track or relative to the selected track left or right
Track Actions can also be applied to a span of tracks or to all tracks
Using the broken and variety options you can even set a particular setof tracks to apply the actions to...
Working with Devices is the same. You can target the selected device or target devices by name or number
The options for a range of devices is consistent. All or a span or a chosen set of devices defined by name & / or number
Here we see a Drum Rack group, it then makes sense that you'd be able to target your chosen actions to chains
With all of the previous options, the depth of ClyphX Pro is impressive!
Macrobat also provides for some automap magic too! Here the four macros are automatically mapped to the Drum Rack
Changing the name of the [vol] macro to [vol 0db] will limit the volume to zero decibels. How easy is that?
This Macrobat rack is part of the extra goodies lesson. Its core purpose is to allow you to DJ with the Ableton Push. This is a Dj Rack that is controlled by the Macrobat Rack to the left. This grouped rack is then placed in each of 8 Tracks
Selecting the Main Track in the Live set then presents you with the choice of 8 reciever MAcrobat racks to choose from. Each one will give you controil of one of the effects across all 8 tracks at the same time!
And finally in addition to the core trigger types its also possible to trigger actions from MaxforLive Devices. Included within the lessons is this example device that can easily be edited to include it's contents within your own devices.
The text area allows you to type in any action you want and clicking on the trigger button will perform what you've typed!

I use a Push2, two Xone K2 and a Launch Control. And I *DO* write code. But I must admit that ClyphXPro is unbelievably useful. And like all the truly great tools, the outcome is greater than the sum of its parts. I mean: you cannot imagine up-front what you can obtain with its bricks. You always discover new ways of doing things while working with it. That said, on the other hand, there are also many basic functionalities which I love a lot_ For example, I added a PUSH2 Display Message to almost all of my mappings, because being able to actually READ what it’s going on while you play is simply great! Well done indeed!

ClyphXPro is a *MUST* have. It provides quick tools allowing to automate Ableton live without the need to make python code. Simply use macros names in clip and cue names and that’s call ! I’ve been code shy for a spell but when I saw what Clyphx Pro could do I knew I had to try. Turns out it is surprisingly easy to tame the wildest reaches of Ableton with tiny bits of logical commands. I can finally control parts of Abe EXACTLY how I imagine. Talk about versatility, from clips, to racks, to macros, to constructing the perfect workflow. Oh, and the support system in place to learn and trouble shoot is beyond outstanding. I can’t get enough, and I know i’ve only scratched the surface. Truly a must have add-on to any Ableton situation.

What led me to CLYPHX PRO is the simple action SRECFIX for “fixed length audio recording” , i just scratched the surface and found actions like slicing quick, or slicing+ add midi channel + put in a simpler+set simpler in slice mode + arm this track, all this in One action, Mad !
Snapshot & recall : mad also … and this are just 3 examples of the endless list of action availables , the max4live launchpad which can put the launchpad in “ClyphX mode”, and other functions are all welcome.
+ 1 for the examples aka lessons “ableton project” concerning ClyphX , very good for digging wisely in this gold mine.
Sure with all those possibilities the learning curve is slow at the beginning but with experiencing it you’ll find yourself in some days writing some of your fav actions without checking the manual…
The Manual which is so full that you discover new things each time you open it.
This is the first “script modifying” like program i installed here ( by fear of messing my set up) , all those fears vanished with clyphx pro , nuff more to discover.

Incredible piece of software! ClyphX Pro combined with the Smart Dial from the Modular Series have totally revolutionized my workflow in Live. I’m coming from a long background of using linear DAWS as Pro Tools and Cubase, so I have struggled a little bit on understanding how to take advantage of the potential that Live offers. But when I started using software from Isotonik Studios I managed to do all of the things I creatively envisioned but simply couldn’t wrap my head around before. I’m a long time Ableton user, on a daily basis, I know it pretty well, and I could achieve things Ableton Live couldn’t simply do, and in a very easy, comprehensive way. For example, being able to manage different parameters from several tracks in a session with only one knob was a game changer and an insane time saver ! Of course there’s a learning curve, proportional to all the possibilities offered by ClyphX, but in the end, you replace the “I wish I could do this and that…” by “I CAN DO this and that…”. I am a code-shy musician so 10 minutes after buying ClyphX Pro I am looking at the manual thinking “what have I done” . 48 Hours later I am like “so glad I did that!” The first 24 hours was like a bad hangover because there is a learning curve. Luckily there is a fantastic “owners” support group and once you have the basics the other pieces fall into place. The result is creative freedom – because so many of the really annoying obstacles in Ableton Live suddenly are not obstacles any more. For me ClyphX has unlocked potential in Ableton, and creativity in myself.
Hint: Have chocolate and coffee when opening the manual – it helps!

I bought Clyphx Pro two weeks ago, it’s a great product that allows you to do a lot of great controls that you couldn’t do natively with Ableton Live!
I love this virtual control surface, for my part, the ClyphX Rack is one of my favorite functions, it allows me to edit a lot of things very simply in clips (see in a single clip for an entire song / by removing the “Stop” buttons directly below the clip of the track containing this ClyphX Rack) via the Piano Roll!
My best investment for Ableton Live, ClyphX is one of the best current PlugIns for this famous DAW!!!

Clyph X Pro is absolutely incredible, it’s revolutionized my live performances by allowing me to loop multiple instruments hands free, auto quantize my clips, straight or swung, audio and midi, immediately after recording each instrument! Launch backing tracks and scenes at the exact time I want, change device parameters like delay times, auto-tune key/scale per scene/per song, and so much more. I was a bit frustrated for a while, as it took forever for the team to update it for Live 12 but I’m very happy to report that they supported Live 12.1 on the day it was released! Thanks Isotonik and Stray for making a truly game-changing product and offering it for a super reasonable price. If you are an ableton power user, live looper, etc you must buy this software and READ THE MANUAL to learn about all the different things it can do.
