Description
PrEditor 2 is now in a closed beta for Live 11, if you purchased after the 23rd February 2021 then this will be a free upgrade. If you purchased prior we will contact you via our mailing list with a discounted upgrade path to the Live 11 version when available
One of the beauties of Ableton Live is it’s configurability, add more tracks, redefine your channel strip effects, i didn’t think i’d ever finish the perfect set up. PrEditor 2 makes it possible at last by giving you complete customisation of how your MIDI controller maps in Live!
Some things are non-negotiable though! And even with months of thoughtful debate by the Ableton team they’re never going to keep everyone happy with their map of how parameters are ordered in Live…
Plus the default mappings are all linked to the paradigm of banks of 8, so what happens when you’ve got your hands on 24 or 32 parameters at once with one of our Control Surface scripts for the Novation LaunchControl, Novation LaunchControl XL, AKAI MIDI Mix, Korg NanoKontrol Studio or the Behringer BCR2000 & BCF2000. Or even with the included scripts for the Ableton Push 1 and Ableton Push 2!!
With PrEditor 2 you can create your own maps for all of Ableton Live’s Instruments and Effects plus it will allow you to build maps for how your controller AutoMaps with Ableton Live’s Blue Hand function for your VSTs and MaxforLive devices without having to learn a line of code!
All of Live’s native Instruments and Effects can be re-mapped, you can even map the same parameter in multiple banks if for example you always want the first encoder to handle the resonance of Autofilter.
PREDITOR 2 FEATURES
With a simple and intuitive graphical interface you can:
- Build up your parameters in banks
- Customise the name of your banks for display on the Push 1 & 2 screen
- Customise the naming of each parameter for display on the Push 1 & 2 screen, great for VSTs that aren’t developed with the Push display in mind or MaxforLive devices that would only display Bank 1, Bank 2 etc.
- Create up to 64 banks for each mapping
- Re-Arrange, re-order, copy and paste banks
- Have blank spaces
- Map a parameter multiple times across different banks
- Access all of the hidden parameters of Live’s devices that were previously only available to Push 1 & 2 (awesome when using one of our custom Control Surface Scripts!)
- Unlock the access to all of the parameters in a MaxforLive device!
- Create maps for MultiMap VST/AU devices like Native Instruments Reaktor & Kontakt and Diva
- Mix device parameters with send and macro controls in a single bank
PLEASE NOTE: PREDITOR 2 CURRENTLY DOES NOT SUPPORT BEST OF BANK’s

The PrEditor2 is very useful tool. It is worth its money. After paying I got the download link directly. The LiveMapMode is awesome. It is easy to operate with it. . The mapping goes fast.
The concept is thought through. At the beginning I had difficulties, but the sevice is also top. The team has taken the time and could help me.

Other than the Push 2, easily the best Ableton related purchase I’ve made. This will streamline my workflow a lot better, leaving more time to be creative, bridging the gap between software and hardware on the tactile control side of things. And like the other review said, spot on customer service. Looking forward to the updates.

This is how mapping for Push 2 should be! Worth every penny.

Preditor 2 is a must for those that like to optimize their workflow. Once you get the hang of it, it provides an easy way to set up and control your plugins. A well thought out program that is definitely worth the asking price. Customer service is top notch as well.
*Special shoutout to the multi-map functionality*

PrEditor2 is awesome easy to use and and maps perfectly to what you want it to along with great support from Isotonik, a great addition to any tool set.

The biggest missing feature from Ableton, and great support to boot. How can you go wrong?
knkm003 (verified owner) –
i just can’t understand ableton developers.
is it really that hard to implement this as native feature? smh.
anyway isotonikstudio did a great job.
this is must tool for push users

Wow! This is a game changer for anyone who uses Push 2 and VST’s…since mapping my plugins, using Push is just so more intuitive and natural…it makes me want to tweak my synths and allows me to get more creative use from Push…developing/creating patches in a way that makes sense as I know where the oscillator, adsr or filter section is at the click of a bank named ‘OSC/Filter’ etc…brilliant app and absolutely essential for Push 2…please note currently incompatible with live 10.0.4…patiently awaiting compatibility update to PrEditor 2

Can’t say enough good things about this application/ dev team. I had a couple issues getting it up and running (I believe it was some kind of USB/hardware/etc issue on my end anyways). Reached out to the dev team, who replied back in less than a day. Ultimately issue resolved itself without needing any further support. Was very impressed with the professionalism and quick response shown regardless. Bottom Line, if you have a Push 2 and want to really customize your workflow buy this great little utility. Still early days of use for me, but I’ve been really impressed so far, especially with being able to map and rename VST parameters on the Push 2 screen.

Awesome utility! I love it to death. Should be a native feature, but oh well. Anyone else notice the strange knob values in the Roland System-1?

PrEditor is awesome. The price may be a bit high, but it makes my Push 2 a much more usable tool, like totaly different. It’s an absolute joy to use with VSTi’s and custom settings/names. Some weeks ago i was about to sell my Push because it doesn’t fit in my workflow, but with PrEditor it’s absolute essential from now on. Love it, recommend it!

Doesn’t work for Ableton 11 and appears to be abandoned by Devs. Only works if you are still on Ableton 10.

A Live 11 version is currently in development, you’ll see from the description that this is not currently compatible for Live 11.

Hi! Ok, description is fair since it tells it’s only available with Live 10. But come on, it is supposed to be in development since 2020, you can probably understand why people (like me) are wondering what is going on. Cycle of development is oddly long for such a great product, and one can fear that Ableton 12 comes first. Unless you have something really big coming? No trolling here, just my feeling. Best regards, B.

Hey Boris, Lee is still working on the challenge of upgrading this unique product to the latest version of Python taking into account all the scripts it’s supports. He’ll continue to work on it until we get a resolution!

I love this product! Why? It makes it so easy to make intuitive controls over my gear in my Push . I’m on Live 11, so looking forward for the next compatible release. Hopefully, this will be before Live 12.
