Description

When we first released our script for the Novation LaunchControl XL we were taken aback by the positive feedback for our extended parameter mode allowing up to 24 parameters to be controlled at the same time with the available encoders. Our Channel Strip Upgrade takes things one step further.

Next we took the feature to the BCR 2000. We sure we’ll be adding more control scripts in time having got a MIDI Fighter Twister and Native Instruments Maschine Jam sitting in the Lab….

Now to follow up on our PrEditor Mapping utility upgrade (that allows the user to define exactly how each Instrument, Effect, VST/AU and MaxforLive device is mapped with the BlueHand AutoMapping feature of Ableton Live) we bring you the Channel Strip!

When performing Live with multiple tracks sometimes Ableton Lives paradigm of only being able to control the Rack in focus can be limiting, for example if you want to adjust the Bass of one track against another at the same time you have to play Track Focus Tennis and bounce around your set making small changes. It’s hardly organic…

With the Channel Strip Upgrade you simply drop in a rack to each track and call it “Isotonik”, switch into the Channel Strip Mode from the controller directly and you’ll take control of all of the Isotonik Racks that are in focus of the RingFocus Box. Just think, you’ll have EQ control across 8 tracks at the same time!

You can bank up and down through the 8 available Macros in the Rack, just have a look at the screenshot at the top for an idea of what you could control and then watch the walkthrough video below to see how simple yet effective this new way of control really is!

Very helpful little script. Works with Launch Control XXL script, and enables you to tweak sets of parameters across different tracks. In my opinion, it works best with standard audio FX like EQ, filter, flange etc. Incredibly easy to set up, I had it working within minutes, and the design is intuitive – the LED colours work really nicely with the Launch Control XL, so you avoid getting lost between tracks and parameters. Oh, and Isotonik’s help desk get back to you v quickly. Great outfit!

INSTALLATION

Our Products are generally provided as Zip file downloads which in all cases will need to be extracted and saved to your hard drive prior to installation. Details on the different file type provided and what to do with them are below.

.alp Files – These are Ableton Live Packs and will install directly into the Packs Section of the browser of Ableton Live. When you double click on them you will see a pop up window asking you to confirm that installation is ok as the files are described as “Legacy”. This is fine and you are ok to proceed, the packs are created using the format for an earlier version of Live and so remain compatible with the current version.

.amxd files – These are individual MaxforLive Devices and can be stored anywhere on your hard drive. We’d advise creating a folder for them and then adding that folder as a location within the Places section of Lives Browser.

Control Surface Scripts – Please refer to the individual User Guides provided with your download, an abridged version of the installation will be shown further down this page.

ClyphX Pro – Please refer directly to the manual and installation video for this specific product.

Novation Circuit Packs – These are provided as individual Sysex Files and as a complete bank file. All are to be installed using a version of the Circuit Editor and not via Novations Components back up utility.
